Welcome everyone back to school for 2019. A special welcome to John Reynolds who begins as a new entrant. We would also like to welcome Noa Cory and her family to our school. Noa is also in the Weka room.  We look forward to getting to know you all.

In Term 1 we are focussing on health and swimming. We have our two weeks of focussed swimming using the Kiwi Swim Safe programme, which teaches swimming skills as well as safety in the water.

We also have Constable Ken coming to implement bus safety and road safety. He will be returning in Weeks 8 and 9 to support our Keeping Ourselves Safe programme.

The teachers will also be busy in Week 7 with a three day course on restorative justice procedures. (Behaviour Management including children taking responsibility)

We have the duathlon later in the term at Hanmer, and Hurunui T-Ball and Softball.

We finish the term with a visit from Harold and the Life Education van.

This year our main focus from Term 2 will be around the nature of science. We will be investigating, questioning, observing, experimenting ,exploring and communicating scientific processes, systems and concepts. Exciting!

Kea’s have a camp planned in Term 2 Week 2 at Arthur’s Pass outdoor Education Centre.

It is another production year so lots of drama and creativity coming up for this.

And YES we will be having a pet day, most likely early in Term 4.

Wow! Lots happening and much to come.
Let's keep learning Exciting and FUN!
