Firstly thank you to Debra and Claire who successfully ran the end of term events in my absence. I am sure Mrs Lydon enjoyed the fish and chip lunch with the winning house group Matai.
Debra reported on how very polite and well behaved the group were in a public restaurant. As expected but good to have reinforced.
Congratulations to the children who received class certificates and swimming cups at the Celebration of Learning. I hear that the children had some exciting experiments they shared with parents/ caregivers.
This term will be another busy term with cross country being a major focus in the first part of the term. The Kea's are off to camp in Arthur's Pass next week. This is a great opportunity to explore the science of our outdoors.
The Year 7/8's will be attending two conferences firstly the National Young Leaders' Conference and then they are joined by the Year 6's for the Tipua Maia COL (Community of Learning) Inspire Conference. These are opportunities for our senior school members to hear from motivational speakers that are known role models in sports, tv etc.
We continue with the 4 yr old programme. Any future Waikari School children who are 4 can attend these sessions. Please contact the Claire if you would like to know more about this.
As I say to the children have a good day, week term and be kind to each other.
