It has been quite some time since I have written in here and I do apologise. I try to keep up through the news centre.
Well Term 3 saw us very busy as usual. We ended with our first ever participation in the Kapahaka festival and the launch of the Hurunui Writing Competition.
Thank you to the children who performed with great PRIDE on the stage. We included the whole school and the 5 year olds really stepped up under the guidance of the seniors. Thank you to our school leaders Matthew and Emma who were interviewed on stage before our performance.
A big congratulations goes out to Caryn who organised the Hurunui Writing competition for the Hurunui Schools. We had a prizegiving presentation which was well received with lots of positive feedback on the competition. One parent from another school emailed to say that we had gone global. A video was sent to a teacher in The Netherlands  who played it to her class. ( A video of the story read aloud) The teacher stopped it part way though and the children in The Netherlands completed the story.
Amazing how good things travel!!
This term we are gearing up for our twilight market on Thursday November 8th. I eleive most of the items are made and the children have decided to give the proceeds to charities. (Yet to be confirmed) This will certainly make a Difference as part of our PRIDE values.
We have ERO next week and the BOT is looking forward to working through this process.
Next week parents and the school community will be sent out strategic questions to guide the Board's direction for the next 3-5 years.
Keep December 11th free for a family day in Hanmer,  as well as Thursday December 13th which will be our Prize giving night.
We are currently practising athletics as well as preparing our pool for summer.
Wishing you all a great term.
